Sisters make house to house survey and detect cases of both leprosy and TB. Needy patients affected with ulcers and deformities were brought to the hospital and treated. With the financial support from Damian Foundation Belgium, we have started the lively hood enhancement programme
This is for the benefit of the leprosy patient with deformity and their children and T.B. patients who are very poor. For this, patients are contacted in the villages and they are given the help according to their needs. Financial support is given to buy bullocks, bullock carts, to make new houses, repair of houses, to start petty shops etc.
I POD Camp conducted in the hospital premises
Anti-leprosy week is celebrated with various awareness programs and distribution of pamphlets in schools and streets, so that the stigma about Leprosy be warded off from the minds of people. Over these several years, people are now aware that leprosy can be treated and cured like any other diseases. So the age-old belief that leprosy is a curse form God is wiped off from the minds of people. Now people affected with any patch on their skin voluntarily come to the hospital for medical check up. Rallies are conducted in the schools where the students take up rallies to give awareness to people regarding Leprosy.
